| Hester Brook Retreat is located 250km south of Perth in the area between Balingup, Boyup Brook and Bridgetown in the South West of Western Australia. The property comprises 150 acres (60 hectares) of Jarrah-Karri Forest on the highest point of the Southern end of the Darling Scarp and contains a diversity of micro eco-systems around a central valley with a semi-permanent water course, Hester Brook. This brook runs directly through the property from the North East corner to its Western Boundary and is a major tributary of the Blackwood River, which runs into the Indian ocean at the southwest tip of Western Australia 150 km away. Hester Brook Retreat is a long-term integral ecology project. It is the first in the world to apply the principles of apithology to the ecological preservation, restoration and enhancement of the environment. The project will observe and record the progress of this restoration and the changing face of the location over the next 50 years. The land is available for integral research and personal restoration. Inquiries and proposals for contributions to this work are welcomed. Reports of all work done will be available on this website as various projects progress to assist those seeking to learn about this approach. | |
